Improve educational outcomes by bettering infrastructure in under-resourced schools

Infrastructure projects may include:

  • Improving computer labs with new hardware and software
  • Building and improving libraries
  • Updating classes with new shelves, chairs/tables, and bulletins
  • Creating more interactive recreational areas
  • Constructing fences around schools to improve safety
  • Designing and painting educational murals

Volunteers will be able to:

  • Describe the strengths and challenges of the education system in the school and host country at large
  • Fulfill small construction projects and requests for school supplies
  • Provide much-needed classroom support for local teachers

Duration: Squads can range between 1-2 weeks. In addition to the service component, cultural enrichment activities are available in each country.

Donation Goal: Each volunteer is expected to fundraise a minimum of $990 to cover all their in-country expenses, which includes: transport, local staff, meals, insurance, and accommodations in our private Home-Bases. Additionally, Squads fundraise towards a Group Project Contribution of $1500 or more.

Group Size: Each Squad requires a minimum of 6 volunteers and one adult chaperone. We provide 1 free adult chaperone with 6-7 students,  2 free adult chaperones with 7-18 students, and 3 free with 18 or more.  Maximum group size is dependent upon home-base capacity, generally around 40-50 pax.
